Bake Sale to Support Maggie’s, Everyone’s Home of Cancer Care
We are delighted to announce that our recent bake sale, held at our UK head office, has raised a staggering £563. An amazing amount towards our fundraising goal, this alone will provide Maggie’s with the funds for 7, 90-minute, family sessions with a clinical . psychologist. These sessions aim to help them to find a new approach to living after losing someone with cancer.
The Alderley Park reception area was transformed into the Great British Bake-Off tent for one morning only, with the Catalyst team selling all things sweet from cupcakes and brownies to red velvet cake. The money raised will continue to enable Maggie’s to help 96% of people feel less alone after they visit a centre and make 98% of families feel more confident talking to their medical teams.
Given the current cost of living crisis in the UK, it was overwhelming how generously people gave and shows a heightened awareness of the new challenges people living with cancer are facing, with 1 in 4 now being more worried about the rising costs than living with their diagnosis.
The Catalyst team continues to be passionate about supporting Maggie’s and is keen to listen to the charity as to how best to support them in these challenging times. We are hopeful our commitment to both our charities and long-term collaborations with them will enable both Maggie’s and St. Jude to improve cancer treatments and care in the future.
